[002] Voice - Welcome Back

[Daria looks older since she was last seen, maybe even 30. Her looks have stabilized to something a little less painfully plain, though still intellectual, and her clothes suit her frame. However, she looks every bit as unimpressed as her younger self would.

She remembers how this goes, and turns on the voice feed for her version of letting people know she's back and seeing who's still here that she remembers. Surprisingly, that will be quite a lot of people.]

I thought I stopped having these dreams way back before college.

Must be nerves.

[She is also under the impression that her time in Luceti ended some time ago, and that she has inexplicably been brought back.

Just in time for Valentine's Day, it turns out.]

[ ...That picture looks pretty familiar, and the voice sounds pretty familiar, too. ]

Daria?

Yeah. It's me.

[Then she seems to realize what she's actually looking at in the picture window on her end, and a bit of surprise creeps into the normally flat voice.]

You... don't look any different at all.

Well, yeah. It hasn't been that long since we last saw one another.

[ ...Well. ] ...For me, anyway. I hadn't seen you around for a bit, but...I'm pretty sure "a bit" wasn't ten or twenty years.

Let's make a deal not to call it twenty. [It really isn't, anyway.]

So...should I even ask, or is this one of those things I should ignore and roll with?

I'm going with 'roll with'.

[Wasn't one of the signs the supergenius in that one movie was hallucinating... the fact that all his hallucinations stayed the same age, which was impossible?

I'm getting the distinct impression I'm the one who's changed, at least. The only one. [See what Astrid says to that.]

I had noticed love seems to be in the air... [This much, at least, is a relief. She isn't just letting hormones get the best of her something.]

Um. Well, I wasn't really trying to invite myself ... but it would be nice to relax a little and stay away from the crowds and chaos.

I have a three-bedroom apartment all to myself, so it's not like there's any crowds or chaos to worry about here. And it'd be nice to talk to people who aren't, you know, being chaotic. I wouldn't offer if I minded.

It turns out my sister's still here, so how about I take you up on that offer after I've had a chance to figure out what's going on with her?

Does that happen? [She's heard about it, but well, she tends to be skeptical. With it apparently happening to her, now she wants to know about it.]

According to Hiccup and some people, yeah. Sometimes people have memories, sometimes they don't. So I guess you just lucked out and got memories?

Maybe... [She sounds a bit doubtful, but when doesn't she?]

That's a pretty fair guess.

Lovely. Tell me there's a way to fix this short of waiting for them to get bored.

Noooooot that I'm aware of. Might be something in the reward shop or whatever for mission points or...whatever. To be honest, I didn't look at it that closely.

I may be older and wiser, but I'm still not really the type they'll be sending on secret missions anytime soon.

They're not secret, really. I mean...they're just things you can do. I went to one, once.

What was that like?

[She's sensible enough to know it's not exactly like an action movie. But she's pretty sure it's still not like anything she's ever done, either.]
