[002] Voice - Welcome Back

[Daria looks older since she was last seen, maybe even 30. Her looks have stabilized to something a little less painfully plain, though still intellectual, and her clothes suit her frame. However, she looks every bit as unimpressed as her younger self would.

She remembers how this goes, and turns on the voice feed for her version of letting people know she's back and seeing who's still here that she remembers. Surprisingly, that will be quite a lot of people.]

I thought I stopped having these dreams way back before college.

Must be nerves.

[She is also under the impression that her time in Luceti ended some time ago, and that she has inexplicably been brought back.

Just in time for Valentine's Day, it turns out.]

Care for a drink? [Where were these questions coming from... it doesn't sound like him at all....

I've been known to from time to time. [Which translates to 'yes, a drink' but probably not much more.]

[Spock orders them a glass of wine each... though the alcohol will have no effect on the Vulcan...

...however, he also orders a plate of fine chocolates.]

It's an opinion column. They finally pay me for speaking out.

I am certain that whatever you have to say Daria is very important.

[Spock leans a bit forward... compelled to do so.]

I am unfamiliar with that term... Though if am interpreting it correctly then I disagree....

[Spock, stop that unless you want to see her face turn a most pleasing bumpy texture when a rash breaks out as she gets nervous. She remembers that happening when she was younger, at least. If she's lucky, she's about to learn it's a developed immunity now that she's older.]

However, I will admit that I am quite enjoying your company.... Will you speak more? I enjoy the sound of your voice.

Still, Daria can't help remembering the hospital giving her the deaf woman to read to, because of the complaints about her flat, soul-crushing voice. Heh. She hasn't thought about that in years.]

I'm not sure what to say, put on the spot.

Perhaps you can tell me more about you? What are your hobbies? What do you most enjoy?

Reading and writing, mostly. I draw the line at arithmetic.

[The last part is a joke; though she hasn't done much with it since school, with her focus being literature.]

I do not engage in creative writing.... Though I must admit that I excel at science and mathematics...

[A green blush had spread over his face... the chocolates were starting to take effect.
